What to Read in 2015

I got a great email from Goodreads showcasing new releases in 2015. Some of them catch my attention with just the cover and the title. So here are a few that I am really looking forward to reading soon.

Never Never by Colleen Hoover and Tarryn Fisher https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/23383567-never-never?utm_campaign=2015_1&utm_content=popular_new_releases&utm_medium=email&utm_source=new_releases This book has a high rating on Goodreads, and it hasn’t been released yet. The authors have a huge following, and the story is guaranteed to make everyone cry. Okay, then. I have to worker harder at jerking tears, I guess. But the concept does intrigue me. Two people who grew up together and fell in love experience something he can’t remember and she can’t forget. It’s on my list.

Fairest by Marissa Meyer https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/22489597-fairest I am a sucker for retold fairy tales. The Lunar Chronicles, of which this book appears to be a prequel, are set in the future. There’s a twist I didn’t see coming. The review page is full of gifs, so I get that the target audience is techno savy and loves the bad, bad girls. On my list.

Falling Away by Penelope Douglas https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/18343413-falling-away?utm_campaign=2015_1&utm_content=popular_new_releases&utm_medium=email&utm_source=new_releases This is a New Adult, which never stopped me from reading a book. I love the angst of being grown up but still subject to so much insecurity and new experiences. The boy meets girl, girl ignores boy, they grow up a little and are thrown back together story line gets my attention. Nice cover, too. It’s on my list.

Hungry Like the Wolf by Paige Tyler https://www.goodreads.com/giveaway/show/118859-hungry-like-the-wolf The two books listed above this one are parts of a series. This one is the first book in a series, so you get in on the ground floor. I am a werewolf loving reader and part of that is the visceral urge to find a mate and keep that mate inherent in the breed. Life would be so much simpler if you knew by looking at a person that they are the one for you. And they returned the feeling. Added to the list.

Bound by Flames by Jeaniene Frost https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/16173427-bound-by-flames?from_search=true This is the third book in the series, a vampire romance with a good size following. The fans are rabid for the release of this novel, and that’s a good sign. But I probably will hold off putting it on my list until I read Once Burned https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/7039218-once-burned and Twice Tempted https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/13125234-twice-tempted .

Marked by Sarah Fine https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/21805566 Another paranormal series, but this is Book 1. And there are no vampires or werewolves or shapeshifters in the blurb. I’m in.

The Proposal by Mary Balogh https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/12707039-the-proposal This is not a new release, but in this series, Book 6 just came out. The Proposal is the first book in the Survivors’ Club, and I can’t tell you how thrilled I am to have so many new to me books by my favorite Regency Romance writer ever, Ms. Balogh. On the list and very near the top!

The Secret Sister by Brenda Novak https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/23638962-the-secret-sister Wrapping up this list with a book expected in July of 2015, just to keep you on your toes. This is a wonderful-sounding plot, and I love Ms. Novak’s writing, so it’s on my list. So nice to have something to look forward to, especially a book!

Thanks for reading, I’ll be back on Sunday.
